Try affiliating with more groups that have similar interests and when you do get
an affiliate make sure that their group page has a clear link to yours.
Eventually over time you won't have to do much advertising because the
networking of groups helps to reach potential members. Having current members
put something in their signature would also help a tad... although some don't
like to put something in their sigs so it would be best to make it optional.
Checking out help threads created by members looking for feedback, help, grafic
advice, etc. and then pointing out that they could join a lovely group that
helps other out with that sort of thing is also sure to draw some attention. I
hope that helps a tad.
I recieved the 1st level of hell - Limbo. Well, I'm surrounded by
"good" people and not being tortured so who can complain
.
First Level of Hell - Limbo:
Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink
of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment.
You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling
fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell.
These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised
children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company
with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment
here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.
It could also just be a problem with the coding itself. Often times, one
mis-type early on can create an error in the future. Another thing you may want
to look into is making the files .html, instead of .htm because some servers are
screwy about that. Also, what FTP program are you using? I use SmartFTP ... it
works really well.
One thing I do, is put all the main pages of the site in public access folder,
not in seperate folders themselves. Then I place all of the content within their
own seperate folders within the public access page. Keeps thing more organized I
suppose. I'm not sure how your server has this set-up, so the wording may be
different. Have you tried typing in the whole address of where you are trying to
link to? By that I mean the, http://www.kanzenai.endlessrain.org/about.html
... sometimes including the http://www. may do the trick.
Personally, I find the heise style to be much more artistic and well stylish. If
you were to choose the anime style, it should be a much more detailed mascot
then what you see regularily throughout anime. The small details is what would
distinguish the mascot apart from other anime mascots across the net and would
give it more flare. So either style is fine, as long as it is detailed ... but
I'm leaning more towards the heise style.
Also, I feel that having both a female and a male mascot would benefit the
community a lot. They would be a "pair", not necessarily a couple, but
a paired up mascot. You could use them both individually or together to
represent Minitokyo. Having both genders would also contribute to a non biased
gender base and appeal to both sides. It would also give more flexibility in
choices for products ... but of course make more work for whoever is designing
them .
Well, strangely enough if you were to submit it as a "collab", it
would be regarded as acceptable. You could merely tell them or post in the
submission, that he created the intial background and with his permission he
said you could add on to it. Thus, making it not a 'rip' of someone's work, but
something both parties of it's creation took part in. He has created the
beginning of the wall and you have created the end, correct? So it could be
considered a collab ... which is something that is perfectly "legal"
in Minitokyo.
The point is both of you took part in the creation of the wall in one way or
another, thus making it able to be labeled as a collaborative effort. You also
have gained his permission to work with it from him further... so perhaps
labeling it as a "collab" ... which I feel it is due to both parties
having an active role in it's creation will solve this problem. So really, it
all is just a matter of your wording and intent with the creation of the wall.
Nothing was stolen because permission was obtained and both of you worked on it
one way or another. So, labeling it as a collab would probably help you greatly,
for that is what it is.
A lot of people have birthdays in the Summer apparently . Well,
happy birthday and best of luck handling all of the birthday walls and gifts
you'll recieve .
Zephiris26 has become the fourth addition to those representing the Aspiring
Mafia. So, please add them on your list above as participating in the w.a.r.
contest.
Alright, it would appear as though I now have 3 people to represent the Aspiring
Mafia group. They replied positively to my request of them being a
representative through PM, so they should definately be listed as claimed by the
mafia . They are as follows:
So far I have appear to have nabbed two representatives for my group. Bleh, I
only need 4 more . So, if anyone in the Aspiring Mafia wants to be a representative, PM me...
cause at the moment it would appear as though all the good ones are taken .
I looked around and also saw that Dark 11 matched very closely. They may have
used a differnt font for the letter "n" to obtain the look it has. So,
I found another font that has the "n" you are looking for. Perhaps if
you use the rest of the font as intended, then use the other font's
"n" you can pull off the look you want to achieve.
The Aspiring Mafia will definately be taking part in this. So, add the mafia to
the list ... .
It would be easiest if the members of the groups chose which group they were
planning to represent. By having that picked out, you have no worries of extras
or groups cut short on participants. So, they must choose before they
begin.
Next, those 6 people now represent a group. This then moves to Round 2. Each of
those 6 people will go against 5 from another group in a sort of free-for all.
For example, say there are 6 groups participating, each with 6 members. Each
group has 6, well one of those 6 are placed in a sort of free-for-all battle
with 5 others. Meaning there would be 6 free-for alls that would eventually
connect.
There would then be six of these, until you are left with the final 6 (or how
many groups participate) participants. Of course more groups means more battles,
but this could be how it could be divided up, just modify it to fit the amount
of groups involved. It needs at least 6 groups involved on total to work though.
From the final six it would be 2 against 2 until you reach the final battle. I
hope that makes sense.
Be yourself and you'll attract someone who likes you for who you are, not what
you are portraying yourself to be. A lot of girls ask "how can I get guys
to like me" ... well it's easy to get most guys to like you by being or
behaving, more bluntly pretending, to be the typical girl. Be yourself and with
time you'll attract somone special whether they be a friend or otherwise. If you
be your true self, you'll find that you'll attract mentally healthier more
suitable people for yourself.
Or you can always burb loudly into their ear, scratch your bum frequently, and
never take a shower.
Well, mine does a "flash" effect that makes you want to stare at it to
catch it again .
i don't find it too terribly annoying, but that could be just me.
Anyway, the avatars I hate, as many have said before me, are the ecchi ones that
zoom in or show certain parts or bounce around ... it's gross. That's probably
because I friggin hate pervs
. I also hate thos bright and shiny avatars that will give me cancer to the eyes
and make me break out into a seizure ... it's like "hey thanks for
permanently damaging my eyes" .
Personally, I prefer a wall that has a balance of both aspects. If one were to
weigh too heavily on one of the two, the wall would seem rather
incomplete.
More on the subject though, I tend to think that original concepts are the key
to truly great walls. As some of you have commented, many people at MT use
the"cute girl in scene with bright grass & clouds" idea too much,
leading to a lack in originality ... and a fav'ing spree that I find to be
rediculous. There are some really great abstracts out there that deserve looking
into ...
Generally speaking, if an artist takes the time to put out an original concept,
they take the time to execute the design of the wall. Or so that would be in my
case. Besides, as a waller grows in ability, they can refresh their previous
concepts by re-doing them with their new skills. Although the artist may not get
noticed immediately by using original concepts, with time their originality will
show through and people will be drawn to their style ... might even start
another trend .
That would be nice. I wasn't able to particpate in the Winter design conest last
time ... really wanted to though. I was expected a Spring design contest, but
nothing happened. Waited a bit, still nothing. I've been wondering if they would
ever do something like that again. So, maybe a Summer design contest would make
up for the lack of any MT wide contest that have been absent for oh so long.
I tend to take long showers and baths often. It takes me 30 mins just for the
shower. I like the warm water hitting my back, it makes my muscles feel so much
better. Plus, it's really relaxing just to hear the sounds of water falling.
Baths are even better, the warmth is everywhere and I actually jsut get to sit
and lay there. Be absorbed by it. Nice and relaxing. I usually take 45 min baths
when I can.
I currently can't take a bath or shower with my special person because they are
away at boot camp ... when I see them soon though, I plan to make a special
shower attack .
Sometimes, I take a 30 min shower than a 45 min bath .
Your name is: Skye
Your sex is: Female
Your favorite color is: Blue
You are stuck there: because you can't die
For _____ years: 76
With: Betty White.
He/She will think: you are clever
You will: kill him/her
Apprently I'm immortal and want to kill a lady I've only seen in cleaning
commercials .
I currently have someone I love a lot. We have an odd relationship, but we care
about each other a lot. We are also far apart, but that doesn't bother me much.
My mother sometimes becomes angry at me for caring about them so much though ...
I suppose many people don't understand it all too well
.
I was wondering if any of you on Minitokyo use Tarot cards or other forms of
divination. I was also wondering if you believed that the cards actually could
fortell the future (or something close to what could happen).
I myself use them every now and then, but I believe in free will and the idea
that you can change the future the cards may have fortold. I try to stay away
from them though, because if I ask a question and don't particularly like the
answer I may start to feel a little bad or hopeless. Actually, I tend to avoid
the little bastards ... sometimes you can find out more than you wanted to know
.
Half the time it manages to say I'm doomed . I'm
still developing my skills and understanding of them so perhaps, I am merely
misinterpretting them (that can happen a lot if you aren't careful). Pfft ...
whatever works .
So, do any of you believe in or simply use Tarot cards? Or is it something you
just fiddle with now and then?
I sometimes create an egg sandwich for breakfast. Although, I tend to put cheese
on top and let it slowly melt. Then, I lighlt sprinkle salt and pepper on it and
put that between toasted bread. It is also quite good if you add the right
spices and personal touches.
I prefer tea. The bitterness of coffee and the taste itself bugs me. I tend to
leave my tea as pure as it can be and drink it as strong as possible. No sugar,
milk, etc. for me. I think in order to really enjoy the tea you've got to
appreciate it the way it is in all of it's herbal goodness.
